Descriptions

Expanded Polyethylene (EPE) foam is a type of closed-cell foam made from polyethylene. The manufacturing process begins with expanded pellets, known as EPE beads, which are created using a blowing agent. These beads are then expanded within a mold using steam, a process similar to that used for making expanded polystyrene foam. The result is a semi-rigid, closed-cell foam that excels in absorbing vibration and shock waves, providing effective cushioning and protection.

Expanded Polyethylene (EPE) foam offers several notable advantages:

  • Extreme Flexibility: EPE foam can easily conform to various shapes and sizes.
  • Superior Shock Absorbency: It effectively cushions and absorbs impacts, protecting sensitive items.
  • Excellent Resilience: EPE foam quickly regains its original shape after compression or deformation.
  • Chemical Resistance: It resists degradation from various chemicals, making it suitable for diverse environments.
  • Water/Moisture Resistance: Its closed-cell structure prevents water and moisture absorption, enhancing durability.
  • Static Resistance: EPE foam does not generate static electricity, reducing the risk of static damage to electronic components.
  • Insulation Properties: It provides effective thermal insulation, maintaining temperature stability.
  • Non-Toxic and Food Safe: EPE foam is safe for contact with food and does not release harmful substances.
